This Saturday: a happiness quotation from George Sand.
“One is happy as a result of one’s own efforts, once one knows of the necessary ingredients of happiness—simple tastes, a certain degree of courage, self-denial to a point, love of work, and, above all, a clear conscience. Happiness is no vague dream, of that I now feel certain.” --George Sand.

I like that a lot.
One of the things I've been recently working on is learning what happiness feels like. It's different than joy. It's more like contentment. If we get the two confused, we can end up with unrealistic expectations.

I'm not sure if you've already gone over this, but I recently encountered the idea of defining the limits of one's creativity as a path to greater happiness. I tried the exercise here: http://mrsmicah.blogspot.com/2007/08/limits-of-creativity.html
Perhaps you would find it pertinent to your project.
